Are you enjoying a holiday at a camping village in Caorle or Eraclea Mare, and have your children made lots of new friends? It’s time to introduce them to these fun beach games for kids that will make their summer holiday by the sea even more memorable!
- Sand Blanket
Players: Any number, playing individually
What you need: A selection of objects and sand
Each player brings an object to the game. It should be neither too small nor too large. Place all the objects in the middle of the playing area, directly on the sand. The youngest player starts, and turns then proceed clockwise. Taking turns, each player picks up a handful of sand with both hands and uses it to cover an object belonging to an opponent of their choice. An object can be covered more than once. A player is eliminated when their object is completely buried in the sand. The winner is the player whose object manages to stay uncovered for the longest time!
- Steal the Beach Flag
Players: Any number
What you need: A flag, handkerchief or bandana
Divide into two teams. Give each player a number, making sure that the opposing team has a player with the same number. Both teams should have a number 1, a number 2, and so on. A number is called at random, and the corresponding players must race to grab the flag before their opponent. Once a player has the flag, they must try to escape their opponent by running into the water. The first team to reach 21 points wins!
Outdoor Games for Pairs
- Pull Your Opponent
Players: Any number, divided into two teams
What you need: A sandy beach
Divide into two teams with the same number of players. Each team then splits into two groups: the pullers and the players being pulled. Each puller must drag a player from the opposing team along the sand.Mark a starting line and a finish line. When someone shouts “Go!”, all the pullers set off, each pulling an opponent by the legs. The players being pulled try to slow them down by pushing their hands against the sand. The winning team is the first to get all its pullers across the finish line, while the opposing players do their best to slow them down. Each pair must play independently: players cannot grab onto other pairs or seek similar assistance.
- One, Two, Three, Starfish!
Players: Any number, playing individually
What you need: A sandy beach by the sea
Choose a referee, then divide the players into pairs who will compete in a series of rounds. The first pair stands at the water’s edge, on the wet sand. When the referee shouts “Go!”, each player has two or three seconds to move as close to the sea as possible before freezing in place. The winner of the round is the player who gets closest to the incoming wave without getting wet. If both players are touched by the water, they are both eliminated. The remaining pairs then take their turns, with players gradually being eliminated. The winners face each other in subsequent rounds until the grand final, where the last two players compete for the ultimate title of “Bravest of Them All!”
