Just a short distance from the beaches of Jesolo, Eraclea Mare and Caorle, you can leave the busy town centres behind and discover the peaceful landscapes of the Venice Lagoon.
These breathtaking natural areas are still largely unknown to most tourists and are perfect to explore on foot or by bicycle. If you are planning a holiday in one of our apartments in Lido di Jesolo or in one of the beautiful camping villages in Caorle and Eraclea Mare, a visit to these fascinating landscapes is definitely worth adding to your itinerary.
Valle Drago in Jesolo
You can reach this peaceful lagoon area directly from Jesolo Paese. Take Via Drago and continue along Via Lio Maggiore. This approximately 11-kilometre route, partly paved and partly unpaved, will take you deep into the landscapes of the Venice Lagoon. Along the way, you’ll discover beautiful natural scenery, far removed from the lively atmosphere of the seaside resorts.
Not a fan of cycling? No problem! Valle Drago in Jesolo is also easy to reach by car. You can park near Agriturismo La Barena and enjoy a beautiful walk along the lagoon waters.
Spring is the perfect time to explore this route, when the trees are in bloom and the temperatures are still pleasantly mild.

The scenic road through the Venice Lagoon
If you have fallen in love with the landscapes of the Venice Lagoon, we recommend continuing your journey towards Cavallino-Treporti and the beautiful Via Pordelio, a scenic road winding through the lagoon all the way to Punta Sabbioni. The town of Cavallino is around 15 kilometres from Jesolo and 35 kilometres from Eraclea Mare and Duna Verde. Once you arrive by car, you can also explore the villages of Treporti, Lio Piccolo and Lio Maggiore.
Getting lost among the waterways, reeds and open landscapes of the Venetian Lagoon is a unique experience, one we recommend trying at least once. Bring your camera and take your time searching for the most beautiful and unexpected views.

If you’d like to escape the beaches for a few hours and immerse yourself in nature, why not plan a day trip to the Venice Lagoon? You can also enjoy delicious local fish recipes at one of the many excellent restaurants and agriturismi scattered throughout the lagoon area. There are plenty to choose from, so you’ll be spoilt for choice!
