Blue Flag Beaches in Veneto: Caorle, Eraclea Mare and Jesolo

In 2026, Caorle, Eraclea Mare and Jesolo have once again been awarded the Blue Flag, an internationally recognised award celebrating destinations that demonstrate a commitment to bathing water quality, environmental protection and visitor services.

If you’re planning a beach holiday in Veneto, this is another great reason to explore the Adriatic coast. During your stay at one of our camping villages in Caorle and Eraclea Mare or in one of our apartments in Lido di Jesolo, you can enjoy well-equipped beaches, beautiful coastal scenery and destinations that invest in quality and sustainability.

What Is the Blue Flag Award?

The Blue Flag is an international award presented by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) to coastal and inland-water destinations that meet a range of environmental and quality criteria.

Launched in 1987, the programme encourages more responsible and sustainable tourism. It looks beyond bathing water quality to consider other important aspects, including environmental management, environmental information and education, safety, and the services available to beach visitors.

The Blue Flag therefore reflects the commitment of local authorities and communities to protecting the environment and continually improving the experience for both residents and visitors.

How Does a Destination Earn the Blue Flag?

To receive the Blue Flag, a destination must meet the programme’s criteria, which are assessed through an established evaluation process.

One of the key requirements is bathing water quality, assessed through the relevant monitoring procedures. Other considerations include waste management, environmental protection, visitor facilities and measures to help keep beachgoers safe.

Providing clear information is also important. Awarded beaches must make relevant information about water quality and local conditions available to visitors.

The programme also considers accessibility, environmental education and initiatives that encourage tourists and residents to appreciate and protect the surrounding area.

The Blue Flag is therefore more than a symbol flying above the beach. It recognises a broader commitment to environmental responsibility and the quality of the seaside experience.

A Holiday Filled with Sea, Nature and Sustainability

The Blue Flag is another reason to discover the Veneto coastline, but each seaside destination has its own distinctive character.

Caorle charms visitors with its colourful historic centre, fishing harbour, wide beaches and lagoon scenery. Eraclea Mare is ideal if you love nature and want to enjoy a holiday surrounded by pine forest and the sea. Jesolo combines a long sandy beach with a lively seafront promenade, family activities, sports and entertainment.

Whichever destination you choose, you can alternate relaxing days on the beach with excursions, scenic walks and opportunities to discover the local area.

If you’re travelling with children, why not explore our guide to Green Flag beaches: beaches especially suited to children? This recognition is awarded by Italian paediatricians to seaside destinations considered particularly suitable for families with children.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Veneto coast for a holiday filled with sea, nature and carefree moments.
