The Tre Cime di Lavaredo (Three Peaks of Lavaredo) are located in the Tre Cime Nature Park and have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2009. From the camping villages in Caorle and Eraclea Mare and from our holiday apartments in Lido di Jesolo, you can organise a day trip to the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, reaching the Dolomites in just under three hours. It’s a wonderful opportunity to leave the coast behind for a day and experience one of the most spectacular mountain landscapes in Italy.
Discovering the Dolomites
Once you reach Lake Misurina by car, you can take the scenic mountain road towards the Tre Cime. Access to the road is subject to a toll, and it takes you directly to the area at the foot of the peaks, where a large car park is available. This is where your hiking adventure in the Dolomites begins.

Hiking around the Tre Cime di Lavaredo
The hike begins along dirt road no. 101, which leads towards the opposite side of the Three Peaks. After around 15 minutes of walking, you’ll reach a small chapel dedicated to Mary Help of Christians, followed shortly afterwards by Rifugio Lavaredo.
From Rifugio Lavaredo, you have two options. You can turn left and follow the trail diagonally across the scree at the foot of the Torre Piccola di Lavaredo, or continue along the dirt road towards Forcella Lavaredo, which takes approximately another 45 minutes to reach.
Once you arrive at the pass, you’ll be rewarded with the classic view of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. In the distance, you can see Rifugio A. Locatelli. The scenery is breathtaking. To the left, the imposing Three Peaks rise above the landscape. In front of you are Teston Rudo, Croda dei Rondoi, Torre dei Scarperi, Monte Mattina, Torre Toblino and Sasso di Sesto, with Rifugio A. Locatelli visible at its foot.
Further on, you can admire Monte Paterno and Croda Passaporto.
Descending on the opposite side, several trails lead along the northern face of the Tre Cime and continue around to the other side. Here, you’ll find a small alpine lake – the source of the Rienza River – as well as a mountain hut and another small alpine lake.
Continue towards Col Forcellina and, after crossing the large scree slope, reach Forcella di Mezzo. From here, the trail eventually brings you back to the car park where your hike began.
The complete loop around the Tre Cime di Lavaredo takes approximately four hours. It is a spectacular hike that is relatively easy and involves only a modest elevation gain, making it a wonderful way to discover the Dolomites in a single day.
